As you’ve noticed, I’ve started promoting hot rocking independent music again, even tho it’s on a very irregular basis. And I’m about to reboot the Youtube channel as well, simply because my little girl asked me to! But just in case you’ve missed my social media posts, or if you’re visiting Kick-Ass Indie Jams for the first time, I like to share with you what’s going on.
Last August, my little girl was diagnosed with what was believed to be a mild form of asthma, but mid-September our lives got flipped upside down during a routine check-up, as we found ourselves in an ambulance, being rushed to a hospital.
A very long story short, we’ve spend the following 4 weeks at the children’s hospital in Rotterdam, where she was diagnosed with bullying cancer cells, and the doctors started treatment with the help of their little friend Chemo Casper.
Thankfully, we were able to take her home again two weeks ago and last week my little girl asked me why I wasn’t doing anything with music anymore. Why wasn’t I checking all the packages I received in my PO Box, while I was in Rotterdam with her. And why wasn’t I behind my computer again, discovering new music.
I told her she is far more important to me than promoting new music, and between you and me, it never crossed my mind to pick up where I left off. It’s an unreal situation we found ourselves in, with multiple trips back to the hospital on a weekly basis.
‘But Daddy, you know how much I love music and I know how much you love music. I really think you should do it again, for the both of us!‘
Now, what does it mean for Kick-Ass Indie Jams? Yes, I’m back on my blogging tip and Youtube game, because my little girl asked me to! But I won’t commit to a schedule, because I simply can’t. The future is too uncertain, I never know when we need to go to the hospital again for treatment and I don’t even know how my little girl is feeling tomorrow.
So, I’ll be posting new posts and videos whenever I have the chance and feel like it! But my little girl wants to be more involved in picking new music to cover, so hold on to your panties as things could get very interesting! ‘Cause while we do share our general love of music, that’s doesn’t mean we necessarily share the same music taste, ha!
And last but not least, I like to thank every single one of you, for your heart-warming messages, emails and phone calls. Words can’t express how much it meant to me, my little girl and my family. It meant more than you’ll ever know! So THANK YOU!
